The first TiA CiBANi KiDS collection was created on a whim, when a longtime supporter of designer Tia Cibani asked her to create a children’s collection using fabric from her namesake women’s line. For the purpose Tia delved into the colorful, artistic and tactile; choosing bold colors and crisp fabrics that have become the mainstays of each KiDS collection ever since.
Tia believes that good design should be inventive, uplifting and functional! She draws inspiration from her North African heritage and the world in which we live, making for a juxtaposition of poetic charm and modern day pragmatism.
Catering to boys and girls from baby to age 16, the collection speaks to the joy of childhood with designs that are unique and imaginative. Highlights of the collection include exquisite accessories as well as the Mommy+Me pairings.
From its New York City origins, TiA CiBANi KiDS has built a global following, and is sold in exclusive boutiques worldwide. Tia and her young family currently live in the beautiful countryside of New York state. Motivated by the serene setting, and by her colonial-era light-filled studio, Tia leads a closely-knit team impassioned by the promise of good design.

Tia looks toward the light. The Spring Summer 2021 collection has been developed under difficult circumstances. At times it felt frivolous to think of fabrics, colors, patterns and fashion when the world around us seemed to be in such despair over the pandemic, as well as social and political struggles, but it was the light that kept nudging at us and encouraging us to stay focused on what we know and love. To keep living, keep growing, keep our humanity, keep our passions, keep our creativity, keep our strength and keep loving one another.
More powerfully than words can express, our children contribute hope and inspiration to those ends. As parents and grandparents, as close friends and family, all of us understand. For me the simple act of dressing my children in the morning, or on a special occasion, or in the evening before dinner becomes an evocation of optimism and love.
As with past collections, the Spring/Summer 2021 collection embraces our rich and varied global community. The references here include colorful trimmings of raffia, tassels, pompoms and embroideries along with the art of the Suri people of Ethiopia, Bauhaus weaving craft, sportive safari, floral ornamentation, checks and stripes, and the work of artists Aldo Lanzini, Simone Leigh, Tagene Kunbi, and Nick Cave. We mix all of it together, and stir in our own inspirations, as well as practical understandings of what works for children and their parents in the everyday world we inhabit.
